Newport Heights is a wealthy neighborhood located in Newport Beach, California. Its general borders are seashore Highway, Dover Drive, 16th Street, and Newport Blvd. Newport Heights contains the only national grade school on the coast, a private Catholic institution called St. Katharine Drexel School for girls. The Washington Elementary School is also located in this community which was built as an answer to overcrowding at other schools in 1982.
Newport Heights is blessed with a number of parks that are frequented by residents and guests every day. Newport Heights is well located within a short bicycle ride from the beach and ocean, making it an ideal neighborhood for swimmers, surfers, and beach lovers of all types. There are also numerous restaurants and bars in the area for eating and socializing. Halloween is a popular time of year when residents have made it a tradition to go all out to decorate and create an amazing experience for kids and adults alike.
Newport Theatre Arts Center is located in Newport Heights just above the harbor. The Arts Center offers community theater throughout the year. School aged children living in this neighborhood attend Newport Heights Elementary, Ensign Intermediate and Newport Harbor High School.
